So far, the normal path will usually take you to the Raja Ampat through Sorong as its main primary city. Sorong can be reached from Jakarta, Manado or Makassar by Lion Air, Merpati Nusantara, Batavia Air or Air Express. Besides aircrafts, Sorong can be reached also by PELNI ferry from Manado, Ambon, Ternate, or Makassar. Please do not forget to check the boat schedules in advance. After arriving in Sorong, the trip will be continued by boat sailing the waters of West Papua from Sorong port to Waisai, the capital of Raja Ampat for 1.5 - 2 hours. During your visit to Raja Ampat, all travels are done by ship or boat. Now Raja Ampat has facilitated itself with Marinda airport located at Waisai being the capital of Raja Ampat. This airport will be developed not only for local aircrafts but also international flight. You can go directly head fot Waisai from major cities without having to transit in Sorong.

THERE ARE 3 WAYS TO GET TO SORONG BY AIR:

1st choice :
Take a four hour flight from Jakarta to Sorong, via Makassar by Sriwijaya Air, Merpati Air and Batavia Air.

2nd choice :
Take a six-hour flight from Jakarta to Sorong, via Manado. Airlines serving these domestic flight routes are Lion Air and Wings Air.

3rd choice :
Take a three-four hour from Jakarta directly to Sorong by Express Air.
